BMW’s forthcoming new 7 Series was first snapped testing last year, but these are the first shots of a hybrid version of the German manufacturer’s new luxury barge.
Snapped out near GM’s proving ground in Milford, Michigan, this particular 7 Series contains the Daimler-Chrysler-GM-BMW-developed hybrid system that will also go into the forthcoming X6.
The system uses twin computer programmes to operate in both urban and motorway conditions, making it more frugal and boosting performance at the same time. It is due to hit showrooms late in 2008.
