A further £4 billion will be invested in local transport over the next three years.

The Local Transport Capital Settlement should allow local authorities to plan and fund projects, such as bus infrastructure improvements, cycle lanes, road safety measures, better street lighting and road maintenance.

The money is in addition to the £7.9 billion already allocated.
