IT is a fair assumption that you won’t be buying many Audi R8s for your fleet, or Porsche 911s for that matter.

But the sub-plot for the R8 is to see if its Audi badge hinders it when mixing with the aristocracy. After all, in the past Audi has struggled to match even Mercedes-Benz at the expensive end of the market.

But CAP’s predicted residuals for the R8 suggest the perception of Audi is strengthening. Rarity, no doubt, plays its part, but the R8 has stronger RVs than even the legendary 911. It seems the Audi brand really has arrived.
