PICTURES of Audi’s gorgeous new A5 have been revealed ahead of its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.

The coupe, which will go head-to-head with the BMW 3 Series coupe and Mercedes-Benz CLK, will unusually be launched as an S5 model, using the 340bhp 4.2-litre V8 used in the S4. An even faster RS5 version is likely later in its lifecycle. Also likely to be included in the launch line-up will be a 3.2 FSI and 3.0 TDI quattro, while smaller diesel and turbo petrols will come later.

In the UK, the car will come only in S-line trim. Because of the importance of the British corporate market to the firm, Audi UK has apparently been allowed to specify its cars differently to the rest of the world.
