How many vehicles are you responsible for?
We have 1,200 LCVs and 1,200 cars. The LCVs are outright purchased and the cars are run by an in-house leasing company.
What is your fleet history?
This is my first fleet role. I have been at Sig for 28 years but my background is in IT. I am used to a high-tech environment and fleet is relatively low tech but I’ve introduced software packages and the online checking of driving licences.
What is the best part about the job?
The challenge. It’s a totally different environment to what I’ve been used to and I really enjoy it.
Have you ever had a job you did not like?
No, I’ve enjoyed aspects about all the jobs I’ve had.
What has been your greatest achievement to date?
I’m a director of a professional rugby league club and chairman of a swimming club. Two of the children from the club now swim for the UK.
Favourite holiday destination?
The Balearic Islands. The weather is fantastic.
