Careers: how are you settling in?

RICHARD Bunn, general sales manager, Network.

After 10 years at Ford, how are you finding your new company?

When you move company, you’ve got to familiarise yourself with a new set of people and processes. It’s been easier than I thought, largely because of the people here.

Which of your jobs – past or present – have you enjoyed the most?

The most satisfying was at Ford Rental – we took a mature business that was in decline and re-energised it to great effect.

What is an average day for you?

It starts at 6:30am and ends at 8pm. I could be anywhere in the UK or I could spend the day in my office in Putney.

Did you always envisage a career in the motor industry?

No, I trained as a chartered accountant but decided my personality needed more of an outlet.

I started as a temp at Ford and haven’t looked back since.

What motivates you in a morning?

My four-month-old baby in the next room always gets me out of bed in a sharp fashion.
