MORE than two-thirds (70%) of employees in employee car ownership (ECO) schemes take their car with them if they leave the company.

Findings by Provecta Car Plan over a two-year period show that employees are likely to retain vehicles as they have selected and specified the car themselves.

Provecta chairman Nick Sutton said: ‘Under less flexible car finance arrangements, drivers cannot take the car with them when they leave the company, often exposing employers to early termination fees.

‘Because an ECO driver has chosen their own car, they are much more likely to want to keep it when they change jobs.’
