RENAULT is to recall all versions of the Clio II to check the bonnet latch after reports of bonnets opening while cars were being driven.

Renault and the Vehicle Operator Services Agency have investigated and found that the bonnet latch mechanism is safe – the cars affected all showed signs of poor maintenance.

However, the manufacturer will contact all owners and ask them to bring cars into their nearest dealership for a ‘peace-of-mind check’. If poor maintenance is detected, the faults will be repaired for free.
