ONE of the oldest fleet dealers in the country has become the latest in an exclusive line-up of firms to be listed on the Fleet News Charter for Fleet Suppliers.

Gilder Volkswagen has been nominated by Jayne Thompson, PA to the regional human resources director of MultiServ Group, which operates more than 80 vehicles.

She said: ‘They provide excellent customer service. I am always able to contact them and they solve all queries or problems efficiently and speedily. They are extremely knowledgeable about all their vehicles and are also very informative.’

The business was established in 1938 and by 1953 was the first Volkswagen retailer in England.

Gilder Volkswagen is the latest in a select line-up of companies that have been nominated for meeting the Fleet News Charter standards.

The first seven companies listed in December were Automotive Leasing, Days Contract Hire, Drive and Survive, ING Car Lease, Lex, MNH Vehicle Contracts and Premier Recoveries.

The charter was created following the Fleet News Hit for Six conference, based on the comments of fleet decision-makers about the service standards they would like suppliers to meet.

After a year of development and consultation with the fleet industry, it was launched and is hosted this website.
