Plumbing firm switches to contract hire

A HEATING, plumbing and mechanical services company has revamped its 750-strong fleet and switched from outright purchase to contract hire.

PH Jones has a fleet of 50 cars and 700 vans and has awarded a fleet management contract to DaimlerChrysler Fleet Management (DCFM).

The company said its growth plans made the known costs of contract hire and the lack of residual value and maintenance risk an attractive proposition.

Financial director Simon Hindley said: ‘Knowing our monthly fleet costs helps us, in turn, to be competitive and give best value to our customers.’

The Cheshire-based company’s fleet comprises mainly Peugeot cars and vans, including Partners, Experts, 307s and 407s.
