Employees heading away on foreign business trips will be able to use a new website that gives advice on driving abroad.

Avis and British Airways have teamed up to provide information on driving in 16 European countries as well as America, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

Daniel McCarthy, Avis commercial director, said: ‘We appreciate the difficulties drivers can face when setting out to drive in an unfamiliar country, particularly in a make and model of car they may never have driven before.’

Avis claims the site will also help employers with their duty-of-care responsibilities for workers on the road abroad.

Among other subjects, the website covers road signs, documentation, speed limits, traffic offences and regulations. There are also hints on foreign driving habits.
