The new Ford Transit is performing strongly in the auction halls, with prices rising above levels achieved when the first used models came on to the market late last year.

According to British Car Auctions (BCA), prices at a recent sale at BCA Nottingham for used Transits were around 5% higher than they were in December, with every van sold.

BCA’s Duncan Ward said, “Demand like this is unprecedented, but as many commercial dealers are short of quality used stock the competition is intense.

“For companies running the latest Transit models, this is very good news as it suggests demand will keep values high for well-maintained examples.

“Buyers attending auction to buy Transits for their own business should be prepared to bid strongly, particularly if they want the desirable new-shape vans.”
