This is the first picture of Vauxhall’s all-new upper-medium model that goes on sale next year.

Although disguised, this prototype features some of the design cues from the GTC concept car unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March such as the deep, prominent grille and rakish light clusters.

Vauxhall has said the Vectra name won’t be carried over in a bid to lift the model’s appeal and boost residual values – key to the car’s success in the fleet market. Although the name hasn’t been confirmed, the current favourite tag is Insignia – a name used on a previous concept car.
