Jaguar has revised its X-Type line-up for the 2008 model year with a simplified range and extra standard equipment.

On sale from July, the new saloon and estate range drops the Classic and Sport derivatives, leaving S, SE, Sport Premium and Sovereign trim levels.

All models now feature Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, 17-inch alloy wheels, a mesh grille, leather trim, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control and automatic headlights and wipers.

The engine line-up carries over from before with 2.0 and 2.2-litre diesels and 2.5 and 3.0-litre V6 petrols. Prices start at £21,500.

The XK coupe and convertible models receive upgraded interiors, prices unchanged.
