BCA has opened its third auction site in France.

Based in Bordeaux, the facility joins existing operations in Paris and Lyon.

More than 350 buyers attended the opening sale, which featured an entry of 210 vehicles.

A total of 150 vehicles were sold for a 71% conversion rate and a turnover exceeding €1 million – a record sum for a physical auction staged by BCA France.

The auction giant has invested more than €500,000 in developing the specialist remarketing centre. It will initially stage two auctions a month.

BCA France managing director Jean-Roch Piat said: “We are introducing a new low-cost business model for the French auction business, based on volume sellers and used vehicle buyers.”

The site will also utilise electronic remarketing channels.
