Fleets which source their own tyres are being warned about part-worn tyres on sale now that do not meet current safety standards.

Lincolnshire County Council’s trading standards division and tyre safety organisation TyreSafe believe that up to 30% of the two million part-worn tyres sold every year have serious defects. Tyresafe is calling on the government to tighten up regulations covering part-worn tyres, which currently must have a minimum 2mm of tread.
