Have you considered vehicles powered by sources other than petrol or diesel?

Biofuel could be on the list, as could LPG or natural gas. But another answer could well be horse power. Not brake horsepower – actual horse power. We’re not talking about a horse and carriage here, but a new, radical vision.

The Naturmobile is a vehicle which keeps a horse in the back. As it trots along a treadmill, it powers the vehicle at speeds of up to 50mph.

Its makers envisage it as a promotional vehicle for green issues, and have in mind a horse-powered bus, taxi and van.

It will certainly reduce your fleet’s carbon footprint, although there may well be other emissions.
