Van drivers and operators are being asked to help discover why the number of accidents involving pedestrians and heavy vehicles is rising.

By contrast the number involving pedestrians and cars has fallen. The British Department for Transport has asked TRL, previously the Transport and Road Research Laboratory, to investigate.

As part of the process, TRL wants to talk to van, truck, bus and coach drivers and operators, aiming to find the underlying causes of these accidents and then share good ideas for how to solve the problem.
