Tackling sub-standard load safety

Van provider Lombard Vehicle Management is launching a range of pre-converted vehicles for professionals.

Each derivative will be delivered with specialist racking, lining and resin floor, as well as a steel bulkhead and internal lighting and livery.

The vans are aimed at electricians, gas engineers, plumbers and builders, glaziers, workshop technicians, refrigerated delivery services and florists.

The scheme is aimed at tackling sub-standard load safety measures, and is meant to provide a benchmark standard for fleets of all sizes.

First derivatives to be launched will be one for electricians and another for gas engineers and plumbers.

They are based on the Citroën Berlingo 1.6 HDi and the Dispatch 1.6 HDi. The rest of the range will be available later in the year.

Monthly rental starts at £205, based on a three-year non-maintained contract hire over 10,000 miles a year.

Lombard’s van operations manager, Wayne Millward, said: “It was clear that specific vehicle packages for different professions would provide a service of real value to a number of businesses.”
