A major new conference focused solely on best practice for van fleet operators will take place on November 22.

The Fleet Van Conference will be held at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire and will provide a wealth of expert help on operating fleets of light commercial vehicles.

It is targeted at van fleets of all sizes, ranging from just a few commercial vehicles to hundreds.

Conference organiser Fleet News decided to launch the event in the face of the increasing demands being placed on fleet operators in charge of commercial vehicles.

These range from driver management to difficult legal issues that all require fleet operators to have detailed knowledge of their market.

It is also responding to the rapid growth of the fleet van market in the past few years, with commercial vehicle sales expected to reach an all-time high this year.

The following key subjects are being covered at the conference:

  • Vehicle safety
  • Driver training
  • Legal issues in van fleet management
  • Best practice
  • Wholelife costs
  • Funding
  • Fuel economy and emissions
  • Technology choices
  • Handling fines and penalties
  • Racking and loading issues

There will also be individual case studies from van fleet operators showing how they have tackled some of the key problems in the industry.

In addition, there will also be an exhibition area packed with stands and displays, with plans already well advanced for live demonstrations and practical sessions.

Tickets for the inaugural conference can be bought either over the phone or through an online ordering site that will be going live in the next month.
