I look after 114 vehicles, all diesel on three-year contract hire. Our engineers use Skoda Octavia estates but we also run 19 Ford Transit Connect vans and have 25 user-chooser vehicles.

I’ve looked after Vista’s fleet for just over four years, but have worked in the industry for more than 20.

I like the hands-on nature as anything to do with the fleet is dealt with by me.

Spotting a vehicle in our car park with defective tyres, cars with overdue services, unreported damage or unpaid parking fines.

I’ve worked in and around vehicles since leaving school, starting with an apprenticeship, and having worked in fleet as long as I have I think my career path is set.

I haven’t got one – my wife hasn’t got to the bottom of her list of places to visit yet!
