Ford has unveiled its facelifted Focus, which will be available at the end of the year.

Taking some heavy style influences from the latest Mondeo, the new Focus features a redesigned front end and revised interior.

Trapezoidal grilles and swept- back headlights ape the latest Ford look seen on the Mondeo.

The references continue in the lines running down the side of the Focus, while the rear screen has been reshaped and contours added to the tailgate and rear bumper.

Inside, the instrument panel and doors have been trimmed in a new soft-touch material, while the seats and interior panels have also been redesigned.

Instruments are now illuminated in red, and the audio and air conditioning controls have been overhauled, as well as the whole centre console.

The three-door, five-door and estate versions will be available by the end of the year, with saloon, coupe-cabriolet and ST versions arriving early in 2008.

Also arriving next year will be Ford’s PowerShift transmission, a semi-automatic, six-speed, double-clutch gearbox in the vein of Volkswagen’s DSG ’box.
