Green fleet services to go under microscope

The future of green fleet services will be a key focus for debate at this year’s FN50 Conference on November 6.

Four leading industry influencers will be cross-examined by conference chairman and television presenter Declan Curry to identify the key green themes that will help suppliers build their businesses over the coming year.

The debate, which will include audience participation, will examine issues raised from a morning of presentations by industry experts, including Simon Barnes, environmental affairs manager, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, and Tim Hudson, commercial director of LeasePlan.

Among the panel taking part in the debate will be John Webb, associate director of Lex Momentum Consultancy Services, and Tony Bosworth, senior transport campaigner at Friends of the Earth.

The debate will end a packed morning for delegates, which will begin with the first major presentation to the fleet industry by Transport Minister Rosie Winterton.

She will provide the fleet industry with a keynote briefing on government policy, including an overview of its environmental viewpoint.

The FN50 Conference, sponsored by National Car Rental and Kwik-Fit Fleet, is the annual conference for companies which supply fleet operators, such as leasing companies, manufacturers, fast-fits and rental firms.

Other top-level speakers who are taking part in the event include Paul Willis, director of Volkswagen UK and John Mason, head of enforcement operations in congestion charging at Transport for London.

  • Table bookings for the annual FN50 dinner are filling up fast. Traditionally, the FN50 dinner is a sell-out event, so companies planning to attend are urged to sign up early to ensure they can secure a place.

The annual FN50 Dinner, sponsored by National Car Rental, Kwik-Fit Fleet and Mazda, is a gala event where the industry sees the unveiling of the exclusive list of the industry’s 50 largest leasing companies, according to their funded fleet size.
