  • What does an incident services manager do?

    My role includes the day-to-day running of the incident manager operations department, managing vehicle repair, assisting in sales, customer claims and building relationships with customers and suppliers.

  • What is your background?

    I was an insurance claims handler for Direct Line and then in accident management for SMG Support in Huddersfield.

  • What do you enjoy about your job?

    The challenges I face on a daily basis. It’s sometimes tough to sell the benefits of using an accident management company against insurers, but it’s rewarding once the benefits have been recognised.

  • What advice would you give to someone considering it as a career?

    A good background in insurance helps. Take advice from senior personnel in the company and listen to constructive feedback.

  • What was your first job after school?

    When I was at college I had a job in a bakery in Huddersfield making doughnuts – I’ve hated doughnuts ever since.
