A major European conference next month will examine whether tough new vehicle emissions rules in cities could drive growth in demand for green fleet services.

The Fleet News Europe Conference, which takes place on February 7 in Brussels, will include a debate on the green fleet market and its potential growth.

Among the expert speakers are Vincent Rupied, international director of the Corporate Vehicle Observatory and chairman of the Leaseurope Automotive Steering Group.

He will examine the potential size of the market and business opportunities, while Gavin Eagle, business development director for LeasePlan International, will outline a case study on how suppliers can achieve success by helping customers reach their green goals.

Their presentations come just weeks after Italy introduced congestion charges in Milan and Germany introduced emission stickers for vehicles entering three of its major cities.

Other speakers will cover issues including the use of technology to improve service provision.
