The link road between the eastbound M40 (Junction 1a) and M25 (Junction 16) will be closed from 10pm until 5am each night from tonight (Thursday Jan 31) until Saturday February 2.

This is the third of a series of closures that are needed to carry out junction improvements.

The works are part of a £1.3m scheme to reduce congestion at Junction 1a of the M40 near Uxbridge.

During the closures drivers travelling towards London on the M40 from the Midlands are advised to leave at Junction 9 (Bicester) and follow the A34 down to the M4 and then back towards the M25.

Those joining the M40 after Junction 9 should leave the M40 at Junction 4 (Handy Cross) and use the A404 and A404(M) to the M4 and back towards the M25.

All other slip roads at the M40/M25 Interchange will be open as normal.
