Settling in: Rick Wood, head of training, RoSPA Driver and Fleet Solutions

How was your first week?
I experienced just how big an organisation RoSPA is and how much expertise it contains.

How does this job differ from your role at Drive & Survive?
Like the organisation, it’s a much more encompassing role with more responsibility. Thankfully, there are lots of great people within RoSPA who can be drawn on for help.

What are you working on at the minute?
I am working with the team to review and improve the wide range of risk management solutions we already offer.

What is your favourite aspect of the job?
I’ve always enjoyed working with people and being part of a team. RoSPA has great people who make a great team.

How is the driver training arena changing?
Companies are getting smarter with risk assessments and targeting different solutions to different kinds of drivers.

How do you relax after a long day?
Ensuring my 15-year-old bass-playing son and all his equipment gets to and from gigs safely.
