The number of hybrid vehicles run by Britain’s leasing companies has jumped by more than 46% in the past year, according to exclusive research for this year’s Fleet News FN50.

The guide to Britain’s biggest leasing companies, which will be published on November 4 at the Fleet News Conference and Dinner, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Hyde Park, London, reveals the hybrid fleet has now reached 4,859.

The jump follows a leap of 87% in the hybrid fleet last year and comes as an increasing number of companies look to minimise their fuel expenditure and protect the environment.

Fleet News recently revealed that values of used eco and alternative fuelled cars are continuing to outperform the market.

Figures from BCA Pulse report show that the small number of alternative fuelled vehicles entered for sale by fleet operators are averaging up to 122% of guide prices.

In comparison, average fleet values for petrol and diesel are currently around 92% of CAP Clean.
