A four-year telematics contract – the biggest in its history – has been awarded to Eagle-i Holdings to deploy its Monitor3 fleet management system across Homeserve’s LCV fleet.
The contract is predicted to result in a multi-million pound saving from a minimum of a 10% improvement in fuel consumption and a cut in CO2 emissions of around 30,000 tonnes.
The contract has an initial value of £4.5m and follows a two-year relationship between the two companies that saw 400 vehicles fitted with the system, which can report back to a fleet manager when a driver exceeds a speed limit on any road.
Guy Bruce, HomeServe’s commercial and business transformation director, said: “Eagle-i’s award-winning Monitor3 system offers us a very clear means of achieving our major operational, commercial and environmental goals, including the significant opportunity to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions through better job despatch, route planning and driver speed awareness.”
