One of the companies in the FN50 - Ogilvie Fleet - has purchased Birmingham-based Ryland Unity Vehicle Solutions, which was also placed within the Fleet News top 50 leasing companies.

The six-figure deal adds more than 200 customers and over 1,000 vehicles to Ogilvie’s books, pushing its combined fleet to over 8,000 vehicles.

The Ryland Unity name will be maintained for the foreseeable future, along with the existing staff.

However, back office functions will eventually be amalgamated with Ogilvie’s.

Ryland Unity MD, John Phenix, said: “We will be in contact with each and every client in the next few days to deliver the good news and confirm that Ogilvie is truly committed to developing long-term relationships with them.”

Following the sale, Ryland Unity’s parent company, Rybrook Holdings, will concentrate on developing its specialist and luxury brand motor retailing business.

Gordon Stephen, Managing Director of Ogilvie Fleet said: “I think the backing of a larger partner will enhance the offering to their clients and help continue their impressive growth.”
