Skoda increased sales in the emergency services market by more than a third in 2007, with the Octavia model leading the way.

The manufacturer sold more than 500 models to the sector last year, with 49 out of 53 police forces across the UK now driving Skodas.

The Octavia model was the most popular choice.

The manufacturer has also developed bespoke blue light vehicles, including a containment cell police vehicle and an Octavia Scout modified for paramedic use.

Jane Barker, account manager at Skoda, said: “We hope to continue our success in the emergency services market this year, especially with the launch of the new Superb.”
