Spotted testing in the snow, this is the new Mercedes-Benz CLK, due to do battle with BMW’s 3 Series Coupé when it launches early next year.

Based on the new C-Class platform, the CLK will see the quality of interior upped to justify its premium over its saloon sibling.

Under the disguise, the CLK will feature design cues from the C-Class and CLC.

With BMW majoring on the sporty drive, Mercedes-Benz is angling for customers looking for luxury.

Fleet managers will be interested in two Bluetec diesel engines – a 204bhp 2.0-litre and a 3.0-litre with 252bhp. 

Prices should start north of £30,000.
