The UK van market is staying strong against a challenging economy, with healthy demand and prices achieved for clean
examples.

Quarterly figures from auction giant Manheim show that sales during the six months to March were up year on year, as was the percentage of new price attained.

The age of vehicles sold in the last quarter of 2007 fell by three months, and by a further month during January to March this year.

Mileage also fell by 1,378 miles to 72,681 during Q4 2007 and by another 513 miles to 72,168 in Q1 2008.

But average selling price fell too, down £444 from Q4 2007 to £3,231 during Q1 2008.
