Abbey Fuelcards is bought out

Harrogate-based The Fuelcard Company UK Ltd has acquired Abbey Fuelcards in a deal which will add £45 million turnover from over 2,000 new fleet customers.

The deal increases The Fuelcard Company’s client base by almost a third, creating one of the UK’s largest business fuel providers.

The Fuelcard Company UK is the UK division of FleetCor,
the global fleet card company.

This purchase marks the third acquisition for FleetCor Europe in 2008.

Andrew Blazye, CEo of FleetCor Europe, said: “We are
thrilled to make this announcement as it shows FleetCor’s continued investment to bring its significant financial resources and leading customer management techniques to
clients in the UK and continental Europe.

“This acquisition will allow us to build on the expertise and
service innovation Abbey Fuelcards has cultivated over
18 years by offering FleetCor’s global products and account
management systems.”

Since its inception in 1990, Abbey Fuelcards has grown to
become one of the leading fuel card resellers in the UK.
