Here we have a pretty good indication of what the next Mercedes-Benz E-Class will look like.

But don’t expect any radical design departures. Instead, look forward to a sleek vehicle inspired by the S-Class, with CLS-style headlamps.

There will be at least three variants of 2.2 and 3.0-litre diesel engines as well as petrol units ranging from 1.8 to 6.3 litres.

The finished car is expected to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show next year, and arrive in UK showrooms next summer, with prices starting at around £29,000.
