The Volkswagen Passat has been given a steroid injection, resulting in the new 296bhp R36.

Powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine channelled through a six-speed DSG gearbox and 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system, the R36 will hit 62mph from rest in 5.6 seconds.
