A range of training courses to help businesses improve their health and safety records and reduce costs has been launched.

The suite of training courses was initially developed by DHL Exel Supply Chain for its own patient transport business, which is involved in the movement of people between hospitals and care homes within the UK.

Following its achievement of a gold award from the Royal Society of Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), it was decided to make the solution available to other companies.

The core course has been developed to include more than 30 modules, including sessions on first aid, manual handling, fire safety and better driving techniques.

John Regan, senior contract manager, DHL Exel Supply Chain, said: “We hope to see this programme rolled out across a number of sectors where health and safety and the reduction of risk are important.”
