Alfa Romeo has revealed details of two new models – one a sporty small car to rival the MINI and the other a special edition bearing the famous Cloverleaf name.

The MiTo, which makes its UK debut at this month’s London Motor Show, goes on sale in January with a choice of six engines – three petrol and two diesel.

Billed as a sporty compact car, the MiTo (named after Milan and Torino) will cost from £10,975 for the entry-level 1.4 Turismo with 95bhp and rose to £14,975 for the 1.4 TB Veloce with 155bhp.

Elsewhere, the GT coupe is now available as a Cloverleaf – a name associated with performance Alfas from the past.

Mechanically similar to the standard GT range with two petrol and two diesel engines, Cloverleaf models have revised handling characteristics and sporty styling additions.

Prices range from £18,980 to £21,980.
