Vauxhall has taken the wraps off the third variant of the new Insignia range – the Sports Tourer.

The stylish estate model, which will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, is due to go on sale in the UK in the second quarter of next year.

The Sports Tourer is based on the same platform as the saloon and hatchback models but is 80mm longer.

It will be offered in front and four-wheel drive guises.

Engine options will include the five units already announced, plus two new versions – a more powerful turbodiesel and a smaller capacity turbocharged petrol unit.

An ecoFLEX Sports Tourer with lower emissions will also be offered.
