Bellan offers enhanced security for LCV operators

While van manufacturers provide a basic level of security it’s really not enough to counter the constant threat of vehicle break-ins and theft, according to lock specialist Bellan.

So the firm has developed a purpose-built range of automotive locking devices for commercial vehicles.

A spokesman said: “For van drivers and couriers making regular deliveries, Bellan locks all feature a single-handed operation.

“That’s because, rather than using an external flap, which has to be held open with one hand while the other hand inserts the key, Bellan locks feature an internal flap that is simply pushed aside as the key enters the lock.”

British Gas, part of Centrica, incorporates Bellan’s Slam Locks and Armadillo Locks as standard to enhance the security of its vans.

Centrica currently has more than 10,000 Bellan locks in use across the fleet.

Air Products is another major client for Bellan.

Spokesman Colin Carruthers said: “We are 100% satisfied with the locks that have been fitted and would use and recommend them for any future requirements.”
