Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles achieved record sales, both in the UK and around the world, in the first six months of the year.

After eight consecutive years of record sales in the UK, the manufacturer sold 15,793 models from January to the end of June.

This figure includes passenger carrying models, with pure van sales hitting 14,325 registrations – an increase of 1,300 units over the same period last year.

According to the manufacturer, improved supplies of the Crafter and the launch of the Caddy Maxi helped push the extra volume.

The Transporter remains the best-selling model.

Globally, Volkswagen sold 264,000 LCVs – up 13%.

  • Vauxhall is offering free servicing for five years or 100,000 miles on all its commercial vehicles. The offer is open to private buyers or small fleets (operating 25 vehicles or fewer) until October 2.
