Describe your fleet.

Sixty LCVs (some are finance lease, others daily rental) and 40 cars (contract hire).

What are you working on at the moment?

Fighting off leasing companies trying to sell me contract hire – only joking. I’m replacing some of the fleet, as well as starting to introduce driver assessment for new employees.

How did you get into the fleet industry?

I started off as an apprentice mechanic after leaving school. I worked for a leasing company for 17 years in various positions and moved on to my current job three years ago.

Would you recommend a career in fleet?

I’d recommend it to anyone who is self-motivated and who can work on instinct – but experience is essential.

What would make your life easier at work?

I’d like to see manufacturers produce CO2 and mpg figures for LCVs. And on a personal level, I’d opt for more time and energy.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

The south of France. It has good beaches, food, wine and hospitality.
