Describe your fleet
I manage a fleet of 400 vehicles – 360 cars and 40 commercial vehicles. The majority of our fleet is on a dual-badge deal, currently with Ford and Toyota.

What are you working on at the moment?
I am looking at ways we can reduce our CO2 footprint and introduce more environmentally-friendly vehicles on to the fleet, especially for our staff that need a vehicle to be able to carry out their job.

How did you get into the fleet industry?
I was persuaded to apply for the role of fleet assistant at Bupa by a friend at a recruitment agency. That was 19 years ago, so fleet has had a big impact on me.

What has been your greatest achievement in the role so far?
Negotiating the dual-badge deal we have. When I took over as fleet manager in 1993, it was one of the first policies I introduced and it has generated a lot of savings for the company.

What would make your life easier at work?
More of the excellent customer service and account managers I already deal with on a daily basis.

What is your favourite holiday destination?
Cyprus. Fantastic weather, and very friendly people.
