Computer memory sticks containing personal information for use in an emergency are available in credit card and “dogtag” format.

The devices from UTAG allow emergency services to access medical and personal contact information and help employers to exercise their duty of care towards professional drivers and staff in high-risk activities, such as motorcycling.

The dogtag style is worn around the neck and the credit card format fits inside a wallet.

Both carry the internationally recognised medical snake symbol and the letters ICE – meaning In Case of Emergency.

Information, which can include descriptions of pre-existing medical conditions like allergies and diabetes and organ donor status, is displayed when the device is plugged into a USB port on a computer.
