Manufacturers have made 22 vehicle recalls since the beginning of the year, affecting numerous cars and vans.
Most faults will be rectified during a scheduled service; a few will result in an immediate recall.
- Citroën: Dispatch (accelerator pedal may fail to return to idle when released).
- Dodge: Nitro (handbrake may not work).
- Fiat: Scudo (accelerator may stick), 500 and Grande Punto 1.2 and 1.4 petrols (fuel may leak from manifold).
- Jeep: Cherokee (handbrake may not work).
- LTI: TX4 taxi (short circuit may occur).
- Mazda: 3, 5 and 6 diesel (engine revs may increase inadvertently).
- Mercedes-Benz: Vito and Viano (airbag may not deploy/handbrake may fail), S-Class (steering could be impaired).
- Porsche: 911 Carrera 4 and 4S models (engine spacers may detach).
- Saab: 9-5 (fuel leak may occur).
- Smart: Fortwo (windscreen may come loose).
- Suzuki: Swift (boot light may catch fire).
- Toyota: Auris (rear brake callipers may detach).
- Volvo: XC60 (towing eye may not be correctly fitted), S80/V70 and XC70 (short circuit – fire may occur).
