Carillion Fleet Management is delivering 135 Peugeot vans to Monteray Ltd, a national joint venture company set up to provide facilities management to BT’s 8500 buildings across the UK.

Monteray’s management contract covers, amongst other aspects, security, office moves and heating and maintenance contracts. The 135 new vans, which include Partner, Expert and Boxer models, are part of a total fleet of 700 and will replace existing vehicles as they reach their useful end of life. The vehicles will be deployed to different BT facilities nationwide.

“Peugeot was selected because they have a very modern range of vehicles of all sizes, from car-derived vans to 3.5 tonners,” says Monteray’s fleet manager, Rob Gaskill. The 135 vans will operate with a Carillion full maintenance contract hire scheme over four years which includes servicing costs and an annual mileage of between 15 to 20,000.

Since inception, Carillion Fleet Management’s aim has been to deliver efficiency in all areas of fleet management to its customers. The company currently manages a fleet of over 5,700 cars and 6,000 commercial vehicles, including LCVs and HGVs.

Pat Brown, account manager at Carillion Fleet Management, added: “Operators like Monteray Ltd don’t want a one-size fits all vehicle, which is why we have worked with them to assess their usage patterns and identify the most suitable range of vehicles for the job.

“We have a long-standing vehicle supply relationship with Monteray Ltd and look forward to continuing our successful partnership in the years ahead.”
