GlaxoSmithKline, which runs a sales force fleet of 1,200 vehicles under an established employee car ownership scheme (ECO), has awarded the funding and management of the scheme to Zenith Provecta.

GSK, which does not operate any company cars and does not employ a fleet manager, was previously using Masterlease to provide the funding and management for its ECO fleet, which sees employees fund their vehicles using a cash allowance.

Now Zenith will supply the service on a sole supply and fully outsourced basis.

It will supply the vehicles on contracts that include maintenance, insurance, breakdown recovery, accident management, short-term hire as well as optional early termination and GAP insurance.

Eligible employees can use a site, which is accessed through the GSK intranet, to obtain quotes, place vehicle orders, trade up or down from their benchmark allowance, manage the administration of the vehicle and submit their monthly mileage returns.

Mileage is recorded through Zenith Provecta’s MyMiles system, which automatically reminds drivers to record their monthly mileage and asks health and safety questions before allowing each entry to be recorded.

Zenith Provecta provides monthly payroll interface files to GSK, which assist in the calculation and deductions of HMRC compliant payments.
