NAVTEQ has developed Fiat Group Automobiles’ first map update web portal.
The Fiat Map Update Online Store will offer Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo drivers easy, flexible access to the latest map data for the Fiat Group Automobiles’ entire range of navigation systems.
New data can be downloaded direct from the store and transferred to the navigation system via SD cards or USB storage media – the integrity of the content is protected by an unlocking mechanism. Alternatively, customers can choose to have the updates physically shipped via post or courier service.
“NAVTEQ specialises in navigation and has a wealth of experience in developing, promoting and managing map update business,” explained Bruno Bourguet, NAVTEQ senior vice president, EMEA sales. “We have the expertise to operate a premium service for the Fiat Group Automobiles which is designed to improve customer satisfaction and increase sales.”
Live since December 2009, the Store is available in six languages to drivers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
