Halcrow has acquired a new fleet of eight Skoda Octavias for the Performance Audit Group commission for client Transport Scotland. At 119g/km these will deliver a 25 per cent carbon reduction over previous vehicles to meet the Scottish Government’s carbon reduction targets.

Halcrow’s technical and sustainability manager for the project, Eddie McDowell said:

“This is a real step change in reducing our travel carbon emissions; our choice of vehicle was driven by our aim to meet the Government’s carbon reduction agenda. This fleet emits a quarter less carbon than our previous cars. This fuel efficiency also means we will generate business savings as well as environmental benefits – it’s a win-win situation.”

“Our total carbon saving will be 21 tonnes a year, equivalent to five fully grown elephants!”
