Alfa Romeo believes its new low-medium challenger the Giulietta will help the Fiat Group cement its place as a fleet manufacturer to watch out for.

Given its UK debut at the Greener Company Car in Action event, which takes place today and tomorrow at the Millbrook Proving Ground, the Giulietta proved a hit with fleet decision-makers, with all models being booked out all day for test drives.

Fiat Group corporate marketing manager Brane Bosancic said: “The Giulietta is our key fleet model and will have a halo effect for the rest of our products.

“It goes into the C-segment, which is the largest fleet sector, and has all the attributes a fleet needs.

“It’s fantastic for CO2, has low benefit-in-kind tax and fuel consumption, but is still an Alfa Romeo in heart and soul.”

Bosancic said the Fiat Group – which also includes Fiat and Fiat Professional – was well placed to capitalise on the downsizing trend among fleets.

“Low CO2 and high economy is what Fiat excels at,” he said. “People are questioning their need for large vehicles and are looking at ways to save money and cut running costs.

“We have 50 model variants which qualify for zero road tax through emissions, and are seeing the increasing confidence in us reflected in the number of fleet customers coming back to us.”
